Jean Braun of Racine is returning to the Board after an absence of several years. She was elected to a new term through December 2004, and is also serving on the Fund Raising Committee. Ms. Braun was a Supervisor on the Mt. Pleasant Town Board for twelve years. Her community involvement extends to a number of other organizations. She belongs to the Racine branch of the Catholic Knights, holding the position of trustee. Ms. Braun is a member of the Kenosha and Racine chapter of Quota International, a service organization that assists women who have been abused and people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. She is Vice Chairperson of the Racine and Kenosha SHHH (Self Help for the Hard of Hearing) group. Ms. Braun is an usher at St. Paul the Apostle in Racine and has been active in the BOLD (Blind Outdoor Leisure Development) Program. When asked about her motivation for returning to the Board, Ms. Braun responded, “I’ve always been interested in helping people with disabilities. I had a son with cerebral palsy.”
